Ph.D. candidate Emma Mincks won a number of prestigious UNM and national awards during the past academic year, including the Krause Research Fellowship from the American Conference for Irish Studies (ACIS), the Donald E. Jordan, Jr. – Willard C. Potts, Jr. Award for Emerging Scholar from ACIS-West, and a coveted Russell J. and Dorothy S. Bilinski Fellowship at UNM for the 2022-23 academic year, which will support the completion of their dissertation.

UNM Irish Studies alum David Morgan O’Connor (MFA, 2018) was awarded the 2021 Cúirt New Writing Prize for his story “Antoine Solomon Takes a Job,” as well as the 2021 Tom-Gallon Trust Award from the Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society for his story “I Told You Not to Fly so High.”
